“Freedom for Palestine!” – could be heard from hundreds of mouths. The protests in Palestine have come back to Austria,” reported the Red Flag from Austria.
The rally in the capital, Vienna, was held under the slogan “defend Al-Aqsa,” among others, because Israeli security forces recently invaded Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of the three holiest sites in Islam, with stun grenades and pepper spray. This was condemned and rejected at the rally as a major provocation. The rally was attended by various Palestinian organizations, and organizations that are part of Palestine Solidarity Austria. A banner from BDS Austria was particularly prominent. But in the center was an obviously self-sprayed banner of some young Arabs, representing the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This was held up in the truest sense of the word.
“In the name of peace and self-determination, a consistent peace movement must therefore also proclaim in Austria: Freedom for Palestine!”, the report was concluded.
